What is the significance of the UL Certification to my family?
The Underwriters Laboratories® (UL) Certification is security that your family is safer with a GarageTek organization system in your garage.
UL is an independent product safety certification organization that has been testing products and writing standards for safety since 1894. UL evaluates more than 19,000 types of products, components, materials and systems annually with 20 billion UL Marks appearing on 72,000 manufacturers' products each year.
GarageTek is the only company in the garage organization industry to receive a system certification by Underwriters Laboratories. GarageTek is proud to have been tested and approved by UL earning its highest safety standards for durability and fire spread.
What testing standards were used to evaluate the GarageTek system?
Several safety tests were conducted on the components of the GarageTek system, including the patented TekPanel, TekTrak and nearly 100 proprietary wall mounted accessories. These tests include a series of mechanical strength and flammability assessments which are specified and closely monitored by Underwriters Laboratories engineers.
GarageTek systems are built garage tough and UL has approved its certification. Every GarageTek accessory has a UL load capacity rating. For instance, the heavy duty shelf is rated to withstand 200 lbs. In fact through the UL certification process, this shelf and the TekPanel remained in tact at 800 lbs. You can rely on GarageTek’s system strength.

Where are the UL tests conducted?
To ensure impartiality, all tests are conducted by UL inspectors. Evaluations are done at UL locations as well as regular inspections at GarageTek manufacturing plants and operational facilities.
How can I be sure all new products are also UL certified?
GarageTek meets with the UL inspector quarterly to reevaluate all related products to ensure ongoing compliance. In addition, our engineers work with UL specialists during the development of all new products. GarageTek has always been, is now and will continue to be committed to meeting the standards of safety excellence set by Underwriters Laboratories and our customers.
